Microsoft Office is one of that software that requires product key as part of installation including all recent or older version of Ms Office. In case you have lost the Microsoft Office product key you will need to find it before you are reinstalling the software suite. The Office is encrypted inside the windows registry so searching for it manually is near to impossible. Once you have located the correct registry key it will have string of number which is encrypted text not a working Office product key that can be entered when required. Luckily you have key finders that actually find and encrypt for you giving you the valid product key that missing puzzle piece so you can be successfully reinstall the program. For Microsoft Office 2016 & 2013
Compared to other Microsoft version of Office finding the key for Office 2016 & 2013 is bit different and unique. Unluckily we have only last 5 characters out of 25 which is found in our computer system. You need to have the Office key to reinstall the product in your system. It is also not a bad news that finder program are no longer helpful with these two version of Office. In fact Microsoft is finding new ways of handling over the key is different style adopted.
For Microsoft Office 2010 & 2007
During the installation process of Office 2010 & 2007 similar to other versions do requires unique product key. As you sure on not having the longer product key as you have lost in the emails, deleted the email receipt that included the product key in it. You can now extract the product key from the registry using the key finder tool.
Some more and old version of Office such as 2003, Office XP, Office 2000 and Office 97 all also require product keys during the installation process.
It would be surprising for many of us to know that the oldest version of Microsoft Office is still having the product key.
